What is a Derby?
Our Derbies will consist of Amoeba through Preliem divisions and courses are judged on time and
faults. There will be an Optimum time for each level and the closest to that time without going
over with a clear round will win the class. The course will be set in the cross country field and will
consist of a mixture of Cross Country and Stadium obstacles. Riders may enter multiple times at
any one level or several levels. Rider and horse pairs can not enter more then three consecutive
levels. Rules of safety and faults will follow the rules and guidelines set out by the USAE, and
USEA. Divisions
: Amoeba through Intermediate (2' through 3'9")
Course; approximately 20 obstacles, Fifty percent cross-country and fifty
percent show jumping fences
Entry Fees; $40 per class and Extra rounds allowed at $20 per round.

Closing date for schooling shows is the Wednesday before the show. Entries will not be excepted
after Wednesday. Refunds will only be given to entries that scratch by closing date. We no longer
have schooling rounds at our shows instead we have a place on the entry form where you can sign
up for jumper classes at levels Amoeba and up. These classes will be placed with ribbons from 1st
to 6th place. It will be judged with one round being scored for lowest faults and fastest time.

Cross Country schooling is $35 per day
Stabling is $35 for one night and $50 for two nights
Dressage only schooling is $15 per day

Stadium is not available for schooling except in lessons with Big Bear Staff.
