| How did Enoch Begin? How did Enoch get its name? How did we come to start a counseling program? What are we building? What are our plans and needs for the facility? Enoch Began... Enoch Ministries began with the passion of a little girl who wanted to share with others the many blessings and opportunities that she herself had. From an early age, Leigh Ellen Ertle, director of Enoch Ministries, desired to create a program that would share with children, who otherwise would not have this opportunity, to experience the love of a horse. At first she thought of having a career that would raise enough money so she could open her home and farm to children a few months in the summer at no cost for them to experience the love and joy she found working with the animals. As time went on she grew closer to God and her dream became clear. Leigh Ellen’s passions for children, especially under privileged and/or abused, lead her to construct Enoch Ministries. She has received her MS in Community Counseling, is a certified NARHA instructor, as well is certified with EAGALA. Currently Leigh Ellen is working out of Big Bear Farm’s show grounds. The show grounds is insufficient for the needs of Enoch Ministries. A facility is being built to accommodate the needs of this much needed program. While building Leigh Ellen will continue to work out of her current location. Enoch is a non- profit program. With the use of horses, counseling, and other ministries we expect great beginnings to come forth. Horses offer freedom and individuality. They give people a chance to explore who they are while learning the responsibility of caring for an animal. Clients will explore their relationships with the horse as metaphors for their lives. These opportunities build confidence and self esteem. Some clients may remain long term clients and become riding students. Therapeutic riding instructors will work closely with the therapist to enhance the therapeutic process. The facility consist of a Counseling Center, main barn, covered riding hall, outdoor ring, and an outdoor therapeutic play ground. In the main barn there will be four indoor stalls, wash area, feed, and tack room. We are actively trying to raise money for this facility to be built and all donations are tax deductible. With your help and prayers this one little girl’s dream can become a dream for many. For more information on how you can help please contact Leigh Ellen Ertle. Enoch Ministries Inc. What is Enoch Ministry and how can you help with yearly expenses or building expenses? How Enoch Ministries got its name? I have bred and raised Connemara ponies all my life. Often times when I name my horses I will clear my mind and allow God to show me something. So since this a passion inspired in me by the Lord when I went to name this program I stopped and asked God what He would name it. When I did I saw the name Enoch. I had never heard of Enoch before so I went to my bible and looked it up in the concordance. I found Enoch mentioned in Gen 5:21-24, and Jude 14, 15. Genesis 5: 21-24 says, “Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” Jude 14 “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” I was impressed by someone with so little written about him being so close to God that he literally walked from this realm to the next. Later I heard about the Books of Enoch and came to learn that his name means Determination. But originally I named Enoch because of the impression that God gave me when I first read about him. I want a relationship so close to God that I open new dimensions not just for myself but for others. I want to know Him so intimately that I see what He sees. Writing this is so inferior a description from the way I feel. My greatest desire is to know God and for my family to know him. Next to that is that I be a reflection of Him to others. The more I learn about Enoch the more I am inspired. God did an excellent job naming the program. So that is how Enoch Ministries got its name… How did I come to start a counseling program? As a very young child I loved and felt loved by horses. Having not grown up in a church, but instead grew up knowing God in every aspect of my life. He blessed me with a wonderful family, a talent to ride horses, a love and appreciation for nature and all of creation. Recognizing that my fortune, before I was even a teenager I planned to have a carrier that would allow me to afford to open my farm during the summers for under privileged kids to come and enjoy the same opportunities that I had. As time went on my dream became clearer as I continued to experience the healing power of the horse. Watching numerous friends heal from their visits to the farm and being with the animals brought me understand how horses would one day work through my life to help others overcome adversity. It was not until after attending the school of ministry in Canada I recognized God’s hands were all in my dreams. As my dreams became a vision, and I gathered credentials that would make our program credible. After graduating with my masters in Counseling, becoming a certified NARHA instructor and EAGALA certified I worked on building Enoch while working with other agencies to finish my licensure process. Now that the licensure process has now come to an end it is now time for Enoch to become a full time operational program. So now here we are and it is your time to join in this venture and become a part of the wonderful things we are and will be doing here at Enoch Ministries… What are we building? In our first of three phases we are building a counseling center wherein we will be able to facilitate the work of multiple therapists. In this building there will be two large group rooms, three other therapy rooms, a waiting room, an administrative office and a conference room. Adjacent to this building will be another building. This will be the second phase in our building process. The second building will be the barn that will hold the horses and a tack room. Between these two building will be an outdoor therapeutic playground. Behind these Buildings is the location of the third phase of our building process. This will be the location of our indoor arena that will enable us to have our EAP sessions year round despite whether conditions. This is where you come in. You can be an invaluable part in this process. It will not exist without individuals seeing the need for a program like this one in the area and being willing to contribute physically or financially into the building process… What are our plans and needs for the facility? Counseling Center (Center to be built when funds are raised) What The counseling center will house the offices where the therapist can work and see patients. It will also create structure to the program with offices, a waiting room and rest rooms. This facility will allow therapist to facilitate, group, family, and individual therapy. They will also be able to utilize barn and ring area to facilitate EAP or EFMA sessions. When One hour individual and group sessions will be offered by appointment daily Monday through Saturday. How Your funding will help to build this building. Depending on amounts donate, rooms, equipment, and even entire buildings can be built in honor of individuals donating. Why Without a place to work from it will be difficult to build a client base that can utilize the entire facilities and all it will have to offer. Ministries Horses unofficially open now (Barn to be built when funds are raised) What Equine Assisted Psychotherapy When One hour individual and group sessions are offered by appointment daily Monday through Saturday.
